I decided to make these gloves after I scooped some Lana Gross Mille Merino Chunky yarn which I absolutely loved the feel of, it is not too soft nor too rough and it was just crying out to be knitted into some gloves. I thought that some half finger gloves for use in my self propel wheelchair would be ideal made up in this gorgeous yarn.

Then after I made them with half fingers, I decided I really wanted a pair for everyday use around the house or just doing anything where my hands suffer from stiffening up with cold and muscle tightness due to some nerve damage I am currently living with. The Open Mitts are ideal for regular use where you dont want anything close around your fingers and keep your wrists and hand joints nicely warm without being too hot.

Both pairs are ideal for the Autumn and the name for these gorgeous gloves and open mitts was decided by my twelve year old daughter Angelica who was also born in October, the Libra month. Angelica has named them Libra Glamour because she is a Libra star sign and because she wanted to decorate them with some pretty beads for me from her collection to make them extra special and glamorous.

I hope you enjoy making them as much as I have enjoyed designing both pairs and testing the pattern to make a third pair.
