Inspired by an ivy branch (called lierre in French) climbing around a tree, these socks feature a deeply textured cable pattern over ribbing on one side and purl on the other, which makes them the perfect accessory to use your favorite variegated or self-stripping yarn. Both socks are different, forming an eye-catching symmetrical pattern.

The socks are knitted top-down. They start with a portion of 2x2 ribbing, then the cable pattern is worked on the leg. The cable pattern is charted only, and different for both feet. A round heel is then worked and the cable pattern is continued on the top of the foot, the sole being worked in stockinette stitch. When the cable pattern is complete, the top of the foot is purled, and you can easily adjust the number of rounds to match your foot length. A simple wedge toe is worked at the end in stockinette stitch.

…………………………………………………………………………………………..
