Lifelines is a color boost on any cold or warm day – and has stripes to love. This simple mindless pattern is fun to knit and it knits up fast. You knit two alternating rows of your favorite colors.

The scarf is knitted in stockinette stitch. It is long and narrow and you can wrap it several times around your neck, or wear it as a narrow shawl around your shoulders.

I used 2 skeins of Noro Silk Garden Sock and 1.5 skeins of Madelinetosh Merino Light for Lifelines. That gives a scarf that measure 270 x 52cm after washing and lying flat to dry.

This is a great project for experimenting with different yarn types. You can use any yarn type, but notice that your yarn choice will effect the size of the scarf. Since you knit in stockinette stitch the edges will curl inwards. That is a part of the design.

Lifelines is named after the tiny orange line in the horizon when the sun rises in the morning.

A huge thank you to Tanja who translated my pattern into german.
