Born in the Undying Lands in the Years of Trees, Galadriel rules over Lothlórien with her husband Celeborn. Astute and graceful, Galadriel has long golden hair that glows with the light of one of the Two Trees of Valinor. Said to have been the only source of light other than the stars at the beginning of creation, the Two Trees—Laurelin (gold) and Telperion (silver)—eventually became the sun and moon. The trees also divided the Elves in two groups—those who had seen the light and those who had not. Those who had seen the trees themselves are highly regarded and powerful Elves.

Shining with the grace and elegance fit for an Elven ruler, this Laurelin and Telperion inspired pullover is worked in the round from the top down. Beginning with a tree canopy lace and bobbled neckline, German short rows raise the back neck up for a better fit. The sleeves are then put on waste yarn while the stockinette shaped torso is completed with a twisted rib, lace, and bobbled sapling motif at the bottom edge. The sleeves are then worked in stockinette and finished off with a matching cuff motif.
