Gauge is not important. Just work the stitches in the round to reach the end of your lighter.
You can use any type of yarn you’d like. I prefer cotton as it doesnt create fuzzes that can become a fire hazard!

When reaching the end I sometimes will slip stitch around the top just to create a nice finishing.
