This shawl or shawlette pattern incorporates some very basic lace elements and a little bit of ruffle for a subtly feminine effect. The pattern is simple enough to work with tonal or variegated yarn and can be made with a variety of yarn weights. Instructions in this pattern are for lace and fingering weight yarns. The overall shape of the shawl is a trapezoid but blocking plays a major role in the end result of your piece.

There is no specific gauge for this pattern and the size of this shawl can easily be adjusted for the amount of yarn you have by knitting the lace chart until you have just enough yarn for the rows that make up the ruffle.

The pattern is fully written and the lace portion is charted.
