I made this as a baby shower present for some LSU fans. I wanted the hat to be distinctly a baby hat, so I used the soft cotton yarn and more saturated colors rather than the bright colors that the team uses.

This is a knitted beanie with a 2x2 ribbed brim and a 1x1 ribbed body using plain knitted rows at color switches.

I didn’t keep track of the amount of yarn that I used, but it truly wasn’t much. You could probably use just remnants to make this.

I am a notoriously tight knitter, so I have given my gauge along with how many rows I used and the measurements (in inches) for each stripe. I measured after I finished the hat, hence the odd 5/8” stripe for the yellow.
