Lillian Namesake Crochet Shawl is a triangular crochet shawl, worked from the bottom up and is customizeable, both size and gauge wise.
It features a scalloped border that can be eliminated if desired to use less yarn.
It can be worked in any weight yarn using a hook 1 size larger than recommended by the yarn’s maker (unless you are a very ‘relaxed’ crocheter.) For best results, choose a yarn that relaxes well and/or is agreeable when it comes time to be blocked.

This shawl is based on a stitch that my Grandmother-in-Law Lillian taught me when my #1DD was very young. I have been fighting to remember and researching trying to find the pattern for years.
As I sat in the hospital when my MIL was ill, the stitch pattern flooded back to me as I fought to find a knit stitch pattern that worked well with the yarn I was using. The yarn refused to be knit into anything that wasn’t hideous.
As I let go of my preconceived idea of what the yarn was supposed to be, I picked up my crochet hook and started to (somewhat blindly) work the stitch/pattern.
So thank you Grandma, for your guidance from above, and for the relaxation and peace of mind that came as a result of just letting go and letting the hook guide itself.
This one’s for you.
