I have some Lily of the Valley growing in my backyard. It looks like just really wide blades of grass most of the year, but in the spring it blooms these tiny white flowers that have a beautiful fragrance. In Victorian times, they symbolized a return to happiness, which makes sense to me, because their scent does make me feel happy! I like to pick a couple sprigs of flowers and wear them tucked behind my ear in spring so I can enjoy them throughout my day!

Now you can bring this symbol of happiness into your home by making this double knit square. If you’re unfamiliar with double knitting, this small potholder is a great way to learn this knitting technique. Both sides are the same, except with reversed colors. You’ll get the accomplishment of finishing a beautiful project and the confidence of adding a new skill to your knitting basket.

With this instantly downloadable PDF pattern, you’ll have all the help you need to get started!
This pattern includes written instructions, a chart, and links to video tutorials for the invisible cast on, invisible bind off, slip stitch edging, and I-cord loop. You’ll end up with a professional looking finished project that you’ll be proud to give as a gift or keep and put on display.
