The stool cover came about because of the cellists in our house, who use a stool to practise. This is a rather unattractive little stool, bought for next to nothing in some discount store, and it desperately needed covering. The prettiness of the seat means that my eyes are diverted away from the metal legs. I expect its more comfy for the cellists too!

The stool cover is knitted in one piece and the finished piece is square. It is adapted to cover a stool by gathering the edges up afterwards with a simple overstitch. Your stool therefore needs to have a lip of about 5cm on the underside.
