Reminiscent of the hats of the 1950s, the Linen Stitch Tweed Hat has a simple elegance that will bring sophistication to any wardrobe. The hat has a slightly flared brim and the crown is trimmed with an optional decorative ribbon.

I’m just smitten with linen stitch. The tight gauge results in an almost felted texture, and the fabric is thick and warm. Likewise, tweed yarn is lovely to look at, and the bumps and flecks in the yarn combine nicely with the stitch pattern to create a vintage appearance.

The Linen Stitch Tweed Hat design is suitable for a beginning to intermediate knitter. The pattern calls for knowledge of knit (k), yarn forward (yfwd), slip one (s1), and knit two together (k2tog).
