This is a step-by-step photo tutorial for applying a lion’s mane to my small reversible toys. Although this tutorial is specifically intended to embellish my upcoming line of reversible toys, you can use it anywhere! It’s especially useful for making boys’ hair and short hairdos on dolls without a lot of fringey, rag-doll style cut yarn hair.

It’s fluffy and squishy yet stays in place just fine. A combination of embroidered chain stitch and single crochet adds coverage as well as volume.
