LITSEA
Litsea is a semi-circular shawl with a centre of laurel wreaths that continue outwards and transform into branches on the wings. It starts with a circle from which the wings then grow. It is a great pattern for long gradients, but will work just as well for solid colors or your favourite hand-dyed yarn.

GENERAL
Litsea starts from the centre, where you cast on in a magic ring. It is then initially knit in the round, using Fleegle’s No-Purl Garter In-the round on the plain base color rows. This is probably a new method for many, and uses two ends of the base color at the same time (one for RS rows and one for WS rows). Then the wreaths are knit back and forth, but the shawl is constructed so that you “close” each row to make sure the shawl is seamless. Once the two full wreaths are done, the shawl is divided into two “wings” with laurel branches.

SIZE
Approximately 192 cm wingspan after blocking.
