Great oaks from Little Acorns Grow. The Little Acorn Hat is knit in the round in stockinette for the nut, and reverse stockinette for the cap, with a purl i-cord for the stem. Knit at a tighter than normal gauge for warmth.

To make any size of the hat you will need two different color balls of Mission Falls 1824 wool. Pictured is color 008, Earth for the cap, and 014, Dijon for the nut and leaf.

Please Note: The Oak Leaf embellishment is not included in the pattern, but can be found in Lesley Stanfield’s book 100 Flowers to Knit & Crochet, St Martin’s Press. p, 56
