The Hard Crochet Bag was one of the first patterns I created after learning Hard Crochet around 38 years ago. I could fold the top down and get to the contents easily, when done bring the top back up, pull the strings to close it, and go.

My first one held my makeup. My little girls had one for all their barrettes. It’s the perfect size for a little girl’s purse. I have one that sits on my desk for all the little desk items. This one is going to hold my charging cords, flash drives, and battery chargers.

I love the way I can fold down the top section and easily see what’s inside. Because it’s hard crochet (see the free hard crochet lesson 1 on my website) it holds it’s shape. When I’m done I can just fold the top back up, pull the strings to close it, and set it aside.

An added plus is that they are fun to make, a quick crochet, and not difficult at all (just follow the first hard crochet lesson to learn how).

You will need less than a skein of each color. Even if you use only one color, you will still use less than one skein. The yardage above is total yardage for the full bag. Divide in half for each color.
