This cute little bag is knit in the round from the top down on two circular needles. It is strongly suggested that two differing circular needles are used such as two needles with differing cord lengths or differing color/material of needle tips. We used 100% DK weight wool to knit this bag but any DK or light worsted weight yarn will work just as nicely. The original purpose of this pattern was to teach how to knit intarsia-in-the-round. Directions are included for knitting intarsia-in-the-round in this pattern. The checkerboard motif is knit using two-color stranding and the invisible jog technique. Directions for these are not included in the pattern. Only about 50 yds. of each of the main colors (blue, green, tan) is necessary and you may use scrap yarn for the area requiring red, white, and black. Enjoy!
