It is almost Halloween, and this hat will keep you warm as the year turns to Autumn.

Little Bumps in the Night is a top-down construction, with subtle texture created with Estonian Button Stitch.

You will begin with a Turkish cast on. Easy to follow instructions are given for this useful skill. You will then shape the crown with increases. You will work the stitch pattern as a repeat each round. Don’t worry if the odd bump is out of place! This is not the kind of pattern where that will matter.

The hat ends at the narrow brim with slipped stitch pattern, which you will work from a simple chart.

I chose a dark shade of Rowan Kid Classic, which is a plain yarn with a slight halo.

The hat sits comfortably on a 22 inch head.

Thank you so much to my generous test knitters and their patience with my struggles with counting:
