These cheeky little socks are great for under kilts and skirts or over leggings. Perfect for keeping legs warm on fall evenings or spring mornings. Whether you are walking through the fog, kicking fallen leaves along a babbling river bank, or watching cherry blossoms fall on a blustery spring day. You will love these little knee high socks.

If you suffer from second sock syndrome, or have issues with the inevitable one sock fitting a bit tighter than the other, this technique is the cure for what ails you.

The little cable running up the back is a great touch and looks amazing on solid color socks. But as pictured you can also work them in self striping yarns or stripe them your self using two yarns.

You can also make calf length or ankle length or any length socks by simply stopping at any height along the way.

You could even work these as little scrappy socks to use up your odds and ends. I find toe up and two at a time a perfect solution for when you are not sure how far your yarn will go. This is perfect for using up odds and ends, or maybe knitting with some self spun yarn.

Yarn and notions:
Sock yarn, enough to make two socks, amounts will vary depending on foot and leg size as well as if you knit knee high or decide for shorter socks.

40 or 42” long size 1 or 2 circular needles. Or preferred size knitting needles for you.

These socks use the following techniques:
Judy’s magic cast on.
Working toe up.
Working two at a time.
Magic loop.
Simple cabling.
Working heel gussets.
Kfb
Pfb
Ssk
P2tog
Slipping stitches
Wrapping stitches

Note:
This pattern is written for women’s sizes S/M/L with notes for extra small. If you have experience adjusting pattern sizing this pattern will allow you to knit any size sock following the rough outline provided and observing the ratio of change from size to size.
