This hat is created using a seamed technique for the intarsia parts, meaning no pesky wraps and turns. The seam runs up the back of the hat, using mattress stitch to keep it neat.

After the intarsia piece is done, the hat is knitted in the round using the magic loop method (or DPNs, you choose).

Eyes are sewn on in felt for easy positioning.

Tools:
4mm circular, 3mm circular, stitch markers, scrap black yarn.

Yarn:
Rico Design Country Fashion Aran is suggested. This yarn is lighter than standard arans and thus a smaller needle is used. This tension could be achieved on DK or worsted weight with the right needles and tension.
