This pretty summertime shawlette features a lace stitch pattern worked on both sides, that results in an open fabric ideal for accessorising on warmer days. It is worked from the top down, beginning with a garter tab. The shawlette has a finished size of 20” (51cm) deep at the centre and 44” (111.5cm) along the top edge after blocking. Pattern tension is based on 20 sts and 34 rows to 4” (20cm) of stocking stitch after blocking.
Since the lace pattern stitch is worked on both right side and wrong side rows and involves decreases through the back loop, this pattern is suited to knitters with some experience of lace knitting rather than beginners.

You will need:
340 yds (311m) fingering weight yarn
3.75mm (US 5) needles
4 stitch markers
Darning needle

You need to be able to: work lace from either charted or written instructions (written instructions are included - it is not necessary to work from charts) including working wrong-side pattern row, lace stitches include double yarn overs and p3tog through the back loop.
