These are toe up socks with a German Short Row Heel. The pattern is a slip stitch textured pattern over a four row repeat making it easy to adjust the foot length to suit whatever you need. I based the pattern on a single 100g skein of fingering yarn length approx 400m.

You can if you wish add contrast toes and heels and if you are an experienced sock knitter change the heel type to suit your needs. An afterthought heel would be easily achieved if you wish.

The idea for the pattern came about because I was cast as King Triton in a Little Mermaid Pantomime and wanted something to knit between scenes, I had a nice 4 scene rest in Act 1. So fish scales seemed like a good idea and working on a variation of my Dragonscale Sock pattern slip stitch technique appeared to fit the bill.

Enjoy, they are fun.
