Little Parrot
Crochet pattern “Little Parrot”
The pattern contains 11 pages of instructional material accompanied by 64 photos.
Basic crochet skills are a prerequisite.
The pattern is available in English (US terms).
The final size will depend on the yarn you use. To get the smallest size, use embroidery thread.
Crochet level: begginer and above.
To crochet this Little Parrot, you will need:
- Two colors of any thin crochet thread – I used milk white and yellow. In this pattern, I use Gamma Cloud embroidery floss, skein separated (stripped) into individual strands. May be substituted with Adelia Kiss, which is absolutely identical to Gamma Cloud. May be crocheted from wool embroidery thread. The thinner the thread, the smaller the toy will turn out, and vice versa.
- Pink embroidery floss (skein separated into individual strands, 1 strand) for the beak and for winding around the feet. (This yarn needs to be thinner than the main yarn used for crocheting the body)
- Rip-resistant cotton sewing thread for cinching.
- Crochet hook 0.5 mm [US Steel Crochet Hook Size 18].
- Glass toy eyes, diameter 2 mm [0.08 inches]. I order them from AliExpress. (What to do if eyes in this size are not available? You can make your own from polymer clay and cover them with a glossy enamel finish, or use seed beads).
- Glue gel, “Moment” brand super glue.
- For the feet – steel wire, diameter 0.3 mm \0.01 inches], and wire cutters to cut.
- Thin sturdy needle for sewing pieces together.
- Tailor pins for pinning parts together.
- Sharp nail scissors, round-nose pliers.
- Stuffing (polyester fiberfil).
- A toothpick, broken felting needle or tweezers – used to insert stuffing.
- For blushing – acrylic paint in Orange (may be substituted with watercolor) and a fine brush.
