This sweet little cardigan was inspired by a sweater I saw on a grown-up at our local farmers market. The weather was just turning crisp and cool and I wanted to knit a sweater jacket for my big girl Clara. The sweater had this awesome deep ribbed double breasted action going on and a great collar. After many attempts and failures, Clara got her sweater, but not this one. I was unhappy with the sweater, but she was thrilled so I tried to let it go… but the sweater idea was like a curse, or should I say a re-occuring nightmare? I had to get it right! This time, I worked out the design kinks in the smaller sizes until it looked just right.

It’s knit top down so there is minimal finishing. The bottom has a hemmed edge to make it look more like the pea-coat it’s named after. The grown-up version is on my mind, it looks like this design just won’t give up it’s hold on me! Expect Capital P sometime, probably not too soon, it’s way down on my To Do list!
