What am I missing?
Little Scapulae
little scapulae is a cute wee shrug to keep your little girl’s upper back warm.
This free version is written to fit a chest circumference of approximately 47.5cm (12-18months of age) with 10ply/light worsted weight yarn.
Little Scapulae is seamlessly knit utilising the top down raglan shaping method. You begin by casting on the stitches at the neckline, and working flat before separating off the sleeves, and continuing to the body rib. Once the body rib is complete, the sleeve ribbing is worked before finally the ribbed neckline and buttonbands are completed.
To knit this pattern you will need to be able to knit flat, pick up stitches, then work small diameter circular knitting to complete the sleeves (magic loop or utilising DPNs)
A more comprehensive pattern of Little Scapulae is now available! Scapulae is written in DK weight yarn, and 12 sizes from 6 months to 10 years of age
Wondering about the pattern name?
Humans have a scapula (or shoulder blade) located between the spine and shoulder on both the left and right sides of the back….precisely where this wee shrug covers! Scapulae is the multiple of scapula
