This whimsical hat is sure to catch everyone’s attention! It is unique, fun, and can be made for any size or age! The square shape will either flop at the corners to create this fun “jester” look. The pattern includes sizing from newborn to adult. You can create any color combination using 3 of your favorite colors. Just make sure to get 50-75 yards of each color you wish to use. Generally, one ball or skein of each color will be sufficient.

Materials

YARN: 1 skein (50 gm) each of Debbie
Bliss Rialto 100% Merino wool yarn in three
graduating colors of your choice, generally
using cream for the lightest color, or other
DK weight yarn with gauge of 22 st and 30
rows per 4x4 inch square with US 6 knitting
needles. You need about 50-75 yards of
each color.

TOOLS: US 6 16-inch circular or straight
knitting needles
Yarn needle
Ruler or tape measure
Scissors
Pom pom tree or other tool to make 2 to 3
inch tassels

SIZES: newborn (0-6 mos, 6-12 mos, 1-2 years, 2 years and up)
