♫ The Music ♫
The Littlest Birds Sing the Prettiest Songs is a soft, lilting tune by The Be Good Tanyas, a Canadian folk music group from Vancouver, British Columbia. Their exquisite harmonies bring true joy and lift the spirit. The tiny cables in these socks evoke visions of little birds in flight - let them take you up, up and away!

Design Features:

  • These toe-up socks begin with a modified wedge toe.
  • The cable stitch pattern is worked on the instep, back and front leg.
  • The sole is worked in Stockinette stitch.
  • The gusset increases are worked at each side of the sole.
  • The heel is turned using a short row heel cap which means no picking up stitches.
  • The heel flap is worked in Eye of Partridge stitch pattern.
  • The sock finishes with a reversible ribbing that allows for great fold-down options – fold down once, twice, three times, roll it – great looks, all!

Cable pattern is charted, with written directions provided.

To work the recommended bind off, knitters need to be able to ‘read their knitting’ i.e. identify knit or purl sts as they present themselves.
