The Lizzie knits up fast, being knit from the bottom up and in the round, using worsted weight yarns! It only uses a third of each skein of worsted weight yarn, so it can be quite a stash buster! (the multi-color Lizzie).

It uses simple basketweave and twisted stockinette stitches. Enjoy using a variegated yarn in the band and crown of the hat. If you have ever braided hair, then you will find it easy to knit the Latvian Braid, which beautifully sets off the whole look! (U Tube has some great tutorials on the Latvian Braid and Spit Splicing the Mochi Plus variegated yarn.) Some knitters will find a size 7 needle will get them true gauge.

The Lizzie makes up into a cheerful chemo hat or a fun hat for everyday wear.

You can choose to simply knit the Lizzie up in just one color! It really is hard to only make one! As a side note, Bellsistersusan timed herself making the Lizzie to see how long it took- it only took 3.5 hours from start to finish! :)

I would like to send a great big thank you to my awesome test knitters; bellsistersusan, SandyHam (moderator of the Chemo Cap Pattern Library group), and ldamrell!!

And a great big thank you to my beautiful model, Holley! and to my daughter, Karen! Oh yes, and a thank you, I think, to my two silly red headed grandsons, trying to model my new hat!
