A top-down lace shawl, Loco starts with two increasing triangles framing a center panel. Multiple charts and double-sided lace keep the knitting interesting. Knitting this shawl is a true labor of love, and the finished piece will be an heirloom to enjoy for many years to come.

The Loco Stitch originated in a German stitch dictionary, but by the time I translated the written instructions and charts (quite different from what we are used to) I had something entirely new, and a little bit crazy. The design started with this stitch offset in the center panel and on each edge, and blossomed from there. Designing on the needles is one of my favorite ways to explore a new knitting concept, and working on Loco Shawl did not disappoint!
