Out of the blue, I got this idea for a garter stitch striped shawl. The idea was pretty insistent, and since it had the bonus of using up stash, I decided it was only logical to give it a go.

The stripe sequence was the hard part, my OCD brain was insisting on something logical, even though the human race is far from logical. Once I got the sequence started, it was even harder to stop!

This is the triangular version of It’s Only Logical.

3 colors of fingering weight yarn, about 114-674 yards (104-616 meters) of each color.

Shawl shown was worked in fingering through section 9 and used 265 yards of Color A, 319 yards of Color B, and 416 yards of Color C.

19 stitches and 20 ridges in 4 inches (10cm)

Please note that while gauge is not crucial, changes in gauge will impact the final size and required yardage.

The shawl is adjustable and can be worked to the desired size. Yardage estimates, along with percentage estimates, are provided.

Shawl shown has a wingspan of 84 inches and a center depth of 20 inches.
