The gauge or tension is written as “7 1/2 stitches and 10 rows to 10 centimeters, measured over stocking stitch using 15mm (US 19) needles” (Rowan Big Wool, p. 19).

Knitting of pieces is done in the following order: back, front, two sleeves, cowl/collar. Finishing instructions on construction indicate that the sleeves are attached using the “set-in” method and the collar is attached using a “reversing collar seam”, both of which are detailed elsewhere in the booklet (pp. 23-24).

Sizes available vary:
XS (to fit bust of 81 cm/32 inches)
S (to fit bust of 86 cm/34 inches)
M (to fit bust of 91 cm/36 inches)
L (to fit bust of 97 cm/38 inches)
XL (to fit bust of 102 cm/40 inches)

Measurements are included for the finished length of the body of the sweater (from neck/shoulders to waist), length of arm (from armpit to wrist) and width of sweater (from one side of the waist to another, which doubled gives one’s waist measurement).
