A hat that looks like an old fashioned candy/lolly/sweet. Make it in your favourite flavour :) I chose candy cane stripes and strawberry shortcake pink - but what about liquorice or mint?
There are two topknot options, choose a picot edge for a girly twist or a plain garter stitch edge.
The pattern is written in sizes Newborn right through to large adult, (for the more eccentric grown-ups).

The pattern requires small circulars and dpns.
I knit the smallest size on Knitpro short interchangeable 40cm circs, but the pattern testers for the smallest 2 sizes felt more comfortable using the dpns for the whole project.

The gauge stated above may seem a little loose for 4ply on 3.25mm needles, this is because the stranded colourwork pattern affects the gauge. The yarn used is a very standard 4ply.

This pattern has been professionally tech edited, test knit and contains a schematic.
