-Option 2: the pocket can be worked and set in a garment knitted top down at the same time as you knit the garment.

Pocket nr 2: pocket opening 4.7’’ / 12 cm, width 5.9’’ / 15 cm, total measurement 10.2‘’ / 26 cm.
Option: for garment knitted bottom up, knitted at the same time as you knit the garment.

The pattern has 3 different gauge with 3 different yarns and 3 different needles.

Needles: US 2,5 / 3mm (US 4 / 3,5mm) US 8 / 5mm. You also need a third needle for the 3 needle bind off.
Hook size: E / 3,5mm

Gauge: 26 (22) 18 stitches x 32 (30) 24 rows / rounds = 4’’ x 4’’ / 10 x 10 cm.
Yarn usage: 21 (24) 30 gram for each pocket, totalt 42 (48) 60 gram.

Increases, suggestion in pattern: (You decide which increasing method you prefer to use)

  • yarn over, which is worked twisted the next row / round.
  • or increase 2 stitches like this: without taking stitches off left needle, knit in front/back/front leg, -or back/front/back leg. Move stitches to right needle.

You need: 7 markers, grafting needle.

Abbreviations: RS = right side, WR S: wrong side, p = purl, k = knit, rnd = round, pl m = place marker, sl m = slip marker, inc = increase, dec = decrease, st(s) = stitch(es), YO = yarn over

Important construction tip:
-Take into consideration the width and depth of the pockets. The fronts on garment needs to cover the pockets. Adapt these measurements to your own garment by increase less or more stitches and / or shorten or adding the lower part of pockets by work fewer or more rows / rounds.
-Make sure to place markers before and after the pocket to keep track.
-Also decide the placement of the pockets. Count stitches from sides so they are placed balanced, see photos for measurement and placement.

Pocket nr 1 has an slightly angle inwards. I have calkulated the width of both pockets layed towards each other to get a measurement of how to place them. This is to avoid parts of pockets being placed on top of each other. See photos.

Pocket nr 2 worked in a garment down up, needs a seam along garment side afterwords to close the side of pocket.

Norsk:

Kjempelurt å ha lommer i strikka klær, altså!

Kauni for pinne 3mm,
Sterk for pinne 3,5mm og
7 Brødre Novita Vàljeste for pinne 5mm.

Pinner: 3mm (3,5mm) 5mm, pluss en tredje pinne for felle av metoden.
Strikkefasthet: 26 (22) 18 pinner / omganger
32 (30) 24 pinner / omganger = 10 x 10 cm.

Forkortelser:
RS = rett side, VR S = vrang side, vr = vrang maske, r = rett maske, omg = omgang, pl m = plasser markør, fl m = flytt markør
