The colors in this beautiful skein of yarn reminded me of those pictures of Earth from space, and I knew it needed a pattern that showed off these colors best.Traveling, slipped stitches along with elongated twisted stitches do just that. Seed stitch adds texture and a patterned heel gives the knitter a little challenge! Lonely Planet would also look stunning in solids.

Gauge given above is for stockinette stitch. There is also a gauge for the main pattern stitch: 32 sts in 40 rows over 4 inches.

Skills required: familiarity with top down sock construction; ability to read and work with multiple charts (line-by-line instructions are also provided), slipped stitches, cables, picking up stitches, and grafting with Kitchener stitch.

Notions needed: cable needle (optional), stitch markers, yarn needle
