I rarely need an excuse to channel a bygone era, so when a dotted pullover worn on That 70s Show, one of my comfort sitcoms, caught my eye, I jumped in with both feet and started reimagining it as a modern sweater chest staple. Long, Long Time features an easy-to-memorize lice stitch pattern, contrasting saddles, cuffs and collar, and a unique double hem that’s slightly cropped in the front but dips down in the back for more coverage. It uses two beautiful, rich colorways from Little Fox Yarn in the Bōsa base, a Merino, silk and yak blend that’s soft and drapey with a hint of halo.
This pullover has a saddle shoulder construction that begins with knitting the two saddles that cover the shoulders. Stitches are picked up from their long edges to create the yoke. Front and back are joined at the underam and the body is knit in the round. Seamless set-in sleeves are picked up around the armholes, shaped with short rows and then knit in the round to the cuffs.
Your pattern purchase includes a sweater planner to guide you in choosing your yarn and size, and in swatching for your project.
