This pattern is no longer available. Sorry.

A long textured cardigan in soft lightweight alpaca. it’s loosely based on a bulky belted cardi I saw in Lucky Magazine a few years back. I knit this from the bottom up, for minimal seaming and less interruption in the pattern.

I loved how the oatmeal heathered yarn looked in broken rib and couldn’t forget about the photo from the magazine, so I finally took out some Berocco Ultra Alpaca and got going with this. Not belted, not bulky, it turned out way different. But maybe better?

The long A line shape is super flattering and it uses less yarn than you’d think, since it’s meant to hang open and has a lot of negative ease through the body. The finished hems give it a clean look, as do the hidden closures at the top.

I love it since it goes with everything!
