I designed this hat because I wanted something extra long with a gradual increase and I couldn’t find a pattern like that. People kept asking me to make them and crocheters kept asking for the pattern so here we are. I’ve made a lot to trade with photographers as photo props and my father in law wears his as a ski hat and we’ll be doing family pictures in them this year so be on the lookout for that photo.

What makes this pattern so different from the other long stocking patterns? Well 1st of all it’s only $3, so not as expensive. Secondly it also includes directions to make optional elf ears or curly cues if you would prefer those over the pom pom. Thirdly, it’s extremely easy to follow and is designed to easily fit to all sizes. Finally I designed it because I couldn’t find one as long or as gradual as this.
