This scarf is a super easy and fun project, and makes a great last minute gift. The cute part of this project is that the long tassels are what are wrapped around your neck. To wear, just shake the tassels to make sure they’re hanging straight, wrap them around your neck, then reach through the seed stitch loop with your hand and pull them through.

Any of the suggested yarns look great. Also, any super bulky yarn works, but a slightly felted single-ply yarn give the best look. For the suggested yarns, you will end up using about:

  • Brown Sheep Burly Spun = 1/3 skein, OR
  • Malabrigo Rasta = 1/2 skein, OR
  • Blue Sky Alpacas Bulky = 1 skein.

You can adjust the look very easily by using more or less tassels, making the tassels longer, or adding in fun embellishments on your tassels.

You can use size US #19 or #17 knitting needles of any type (straight or circular of any length). A large crochet hook comes in handy when attaching the tassels, but you can do it with your fingers if you don’t have one. The loop or cuff is knitted flat in a simple seed stitch, the act of attaching the tassels is used to seam it into a loop.
