This pattern came from sheer accident while attempting to convert a different needle-knit pattern to the loom. While most similar patterns call for increases and decreases, I am not a fan of those, so I decided to experiment with simple wrap & turn techniques and short rows to see what I could come up with. Hence, the zig-zag scarf was born!

Once you get the first couple of zig-zags down, it’s a quick and easy way to turn out a unique-looking scarf in just a few hours. It looks its best with ombre yarns (the samples were both done in Michael’s Loops & Threads Impeccable) and can be knitted on any type of loom, casting on as many or as few pegs as you like, depending on how wide you want it to be.
