There is something so magical about the knit and purl stitch in knitting. So simple, the building blocks for so many stitch patterns, I just love to play around with them in different combos and textures. I love this tank because both sides of the stitch pattern look great, so it can be worn with either the “RS” or the “WS” facing out.

Yarn
These are ESTIMATED YARDAGES, this project is meant to help you stash bust so if you think you might be cutting it close with a particular yarn, try using a different yarn (held double or single) for your ribbing on the hem, collar and armhole openings.
Version 1: Multi Color
Purl Soho Linen Quill (50 % Fine Highland Wool, 35% Alpaca, 15% Linen 439) Yards/100g, a total of 5 colors were used.
Approximately: 700 (800, 900, 1000) (1100, 1200, 1300) (1400, 1500, 1600) yards.
NOTE: The yarn was held double for the ribbing, triple for the body of the tank, however this is meant to be a stash buster so feel free to play around with different yarn weights, holding two or three strands together to get gauge.

Version 2: Sage Green Approximately 600 (660, 720, 780) (840, 900, 960) (1020, 1080, 1140) yards
2 strands cotton Sport weight held double throughout.

Version 3: Spincycle NOTE: Version 3 was knit in 1 x 1 ribbing for the hem, with all over stockinette stitch for the body, and a V neck shaping, the stockinette stitch and neck shaping result in slightly LESS yardage being used than in
Versions 1 & 2, so if you think you might end up playing yarn chicken, making these two modifications can help stretch your yarn!

Note: This sweater is meant to be worn cropped, so if a longer body is desired, please take into account that more yardage will likely be needed!
Gauge
16 x 26 = 6 x 6” / 15.2 x 15.2 cm on larger needles in pattern for body.
after wet blocking ~ this stitch pattern can grow after blocking so for the most accurate measurements please wet block your swatch! When counting your rows for your swatch count the KNIT stitches, you should have 26 stitches for 6” (the knit stitches are easier to count than the purl for this pattern)
