The golden oriole (Oriolus oriolus) is a small and yellow bird whose song looks like a flute. This migratory bird returns in Europe from its winter quarters in April or May. It is difficult to see it but it is often heard in forests. I dedicate this little yellow cardigan, perfect for spring, to the golden oriole (Loriot in French), which is a symbol of joy and happiness.

Loriot is knitted in one piece from the bottom up to the armholes. Then the back and front are separated, knitted separately and then joined at the shoulders using a three needles bind off. Stitches are picked up at the armholes and the three-quarter sleeves are worked top down in the round. Finally, the buttons band and the neckband are added.

It is a fitted cardigan with no ease. It is easily adaptable. Loriot is given in 12 sizes from 32 to 54. It has been designed with zero in (cm) ease. If you wish a more confortable cardigan chose a size that will give you about 2 inches (5 cm) ease. The length of body is short and sleeves are ¾ lenght. However you may adjust the length of the sleeves and the body easily to fit your personal style. The sample is modelled in size 36, zero in cm ease, ¾ sleeves.
