Notes
The Lott shawl is worked flat from one tip to the other, gradually increasing at one edge every 4 rows until the widest point. The shawl is then decreased at the same rate. The rhythmic rows of garter stitch are interspersed with a number of stripe, slip stitch, ribbing and cable patterns, which create an engaging knit. The edge of the shawl is worked with an applied i-cord edging to finish.

When working the stripe and slip stitch patterns, carry the second yarn up the edge of the shawl, twisting it around the working yarn as you go to create a tidy edge. The edges will be enclosed by the applied i-cord edging, so you will not be able to see the carried yarns once the shawl is complete.
