This fun cloche plays with construction and traditional stitches to create a striking effect.

The two colour cable band is worked first as a strip and then the stitches for the crown are picked up and worked in the round.

The raised cable effect is achieved by working cable stitches on rows using the cable colour and slipping the cable stitches on rows using the crown colour - don’t worry it makes sense as you knit it.

I used a local yarn for the first samples but it will work in any wool rich DK yarn.
