The construction of this soft, feminine shawlette is largely made of chain stitches that are formed into little lotus flower patterns. The design begins at the bottom of the triangle and is worked upwards for 50 rows. The shawl is then turned and the double crochet edge pattern is worked, finishing with a simple picot combination.

Crocheted in Serena, the wingspan is approximately 48”, with a depth of 18”. This could easily be made into a larger shawl by using more yarn and continuing the main pattern before adding the edge design.

For yarn substitutions: As many yarns do not include crochet gauge on their ballband, Serena is listed as 22-26 sts/4” on knitting needle size 3.5-4 mm.
