LOVABLE BABY BLANKET square. 2 options for finishing are given.

YARN, GAUGE AND MACHINE: This simple blanket is spiced up with the addition of a heart motif created by reforming stitches. This little bit of hand manipulation adds a design without changing colors or causing floats so it is ideal for a baby blanket. A heart motif is given, but any solid shape may be used. The blanket is about 32” Tamm Nordic yarn on the bulky or mid-gauge gets 4.5 stitches and 6 rows per inch at stitch size 3-4 on the bulky and 5-8 on the mid-gauge. The blanket may also be made on the standard gauge machine or Passap using a yarn , such as Tamm Astracryl 3 ply, that gets about 7 stitches and 10 rows per inch. If made on the standard or Passap, the motif will be smaller. Numbers for the bulky/mid-gauge are given first with the standard in brackets. Use weights as needed for your machine. Stockinette is used throughout. 2 cones of yarn are needed in complimentary colors.

The heart is made by manually reforming stitches.
