This worsted weight hat is knitted in the round: upper hat first, with lower edge added last. Three colors are used, in stranded colorwork patterns.

Two sizes are offered: small/medium and large.

To work the hat as shown, one skein each of 3 colors in Imperial Yarn’s “Willamatte “ yarn is required: (56g/2oz, approx 105yds/96m, 100% wool) in colors:
Charcoal, main color (MC);
Dandelion, contrasting color #1 (CC1);
Pearl Gray, contrasting color #2 (CC2).
To substitute, choose a worsted yarn with similar yardage.

Double pointed needles, suggested sizes 7(4.5mm) and 8(5mm) are used to obtain the gauge of 20 sts and 22 rnds = 4”.

This pompom-topped hat is a tribute to my Swedish ancestors, knitters whose work has inspired me for over 30 years of happy knitting!
