The Love-Me-Knot Cowl is a versatile piece that can be worn draped about the neck once or twice; folded and looped like a regular scarf; opened and worn around the shoulders like a shawl; draped like a hood; the possibilities are endless!

Any sock or fingering weight yarn can be used. I recommend avoiding roving style yarns or singles as they do not seem strong enough for drawing up the long loops needed for this stitch. Any good, strong, plied sock or fingering weight yarn is good. Try a yarn with long color repeats! Would look awesome, too!

If you use a heavier yarn, you will get a larger cowl. Try drawing up longer loops to ensure that the yarn really shows and you get good stitch definition. And don’t forget to use a larger hook!

I am not claiming that this pattern is the most original concept out there and I am sure there are other people who have worked out how to join this stitch into the round To make a cowl. This is just my version that I worked out and drafted for a class I taught in February 2014. Enjoy!
