Love of Lupins cowl
The Love of Lupins pattern is for a simple cowl, worked in the round. It starts with a single-colour 3x3 rib, then has a stranded colourwork, followed by another 3x3 rib. A crochet cast-on is used so that the cast-on and cast-off edges look alike.
The colours in the Love of Lupins cowl are inspired by many colourful lupin flowers on a sunny summer day. A large Norwegian star motif forms an all-over pattern. This is worked in several bright colours, which really make the pattern sing, whereas the background is worked in calming, undyed white.

Other details
The Love of Lupins pattern is suitable for knitters who wish to practice stranding and weaving in yarn. One large motif is repeated several times horizontally and vertically. Changing only the pattern colour enables a knitter with little stranded colourwork experience to enjoy working with different colours without making the cowl too difficult.
