I found these over twisted cables used to form a diamond in a Japanese Stitch Dictionary and thought they would be perfect for seed stitch diamonds. I grouped them in argyll fashion on the front and back to create a delightfully winsome pullover. I got the idea of the name from the song “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds”. The color of the sweater reminds me of the sky at dusk and of course the cable diamonds. Lucy did not seem quite right, so I went with Lucille which means light. It makes me think of the diamonds as stain glass windows which light can shine through.

The pullover is constructed from the top down in one piece with set-in sleeves. There is no body shaping past the armholes; the cabled panel adds some natural shaping. The length of the body and sleeves is easily adjusted.

There are a lot of markers used in this pattern to make the instructions more clear; you certainly do not have to use them all. I would suggest using different colors for the cable panels and raglan markers.
