The venerable Horseshoes pattern, one of the earliest Shetland lace patterns, also looks a lot like a rainbow, so I thought it would be a perfect pattern to match with the “Knitty’s Rainbow” colourway of Socks that Rock. The Arrowhead Lace pattern also has beautiful delicate arches and connects perfectly to the horseshoes. There are also two serendipitous spots where the Horseshoes pattern connects to the Arrowhead Lace pattern where small hearts are formed in the transition spots. It was magical to see these little hearts just appear in a project to help Deb Robson do more research into something we all love.
