This pattern calls for both 8ply (DK) and 4ply (fingering) yarn.
If you are only making for a girl then 8ply (DK) will do.

The dolls hat will fit baby born or same sort of doll.

You will need to know:

Knitting in the round
Decreasing
Yarn overs
SSK and K2tog
